HEAR IT! YouTube Star Susan Boyle’s Long Lost Recording

As the rags to riches saga of Britain’s Got Talent breakout Susan Boyle continues, a ten-year-old recording the then-unknown Scottish woman made for a charity album has been uncovered, revealing what a handful of people knew a week ago: Susan’s got talent.

After a rousing performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables on the English variety show — and more than 20 million collective YouTube hits later — its safe to say the secret is out.

The 48-year-old, according to the UK Daily Record, sang a bluesy ballad entitled Cry Me A River for The Millennium Celebration disc, a compilation on unsigned acts coordinated by her local city council and newspaper.

Newspaper editor Eddie Anderson, who participated in the production of the Millennium CD, told the UK Daily Record that he knew Boyle was a special talent when she auditioned for him.

“I was amazed when she sang,” Anderson told the paper. “It was probably the same reaction as everyone had last Saturday — Susan was exactly the same then as she is now. She has a fabulous and unique talent.”
