A $50M Series B fundraising round was secured by Gather, a US-based supplier of a metaverse platform.
In addition to Dylan Field (Figma), Jeff Weiner (LinkedIn), Juan Benet, Lachy Groom, Elad Gil, YC Continuity, Neo, and Haystack, the round was also co-led by Sequoia Capital and Index Ventures.
The firm plans to utilise the money to continue expanding operations and its customer base. The company announced a $26M Series A financing in March 2021 and has since received a total of $76M in a short period of time.
Gather, a company founded by Phillip Wang, Kumail Jaffer, Alex Chen, and Nathan Foss, is building a decentralised, open, and accessible Metaverse with a focus on developing experiences that will fundamentally enhance how people engage online for business, events, and entertainment.
