This is OT, but I have no idea where I would post it anyway. But... you'll get a kick out of this:

This tickled me so much I have to pass it on. The McCain people have just launced a new site geared toward those about 25yrs or younger. It is worth a look just to see the bizarre way they "place" McCain as often as possible, but.. the best part is:

Any potential post that has the letter "ass" will be FILTERED OUT and rejected.

So posts now read: "about your as_ertion. (This is not mis-spelled. I tried to spell it appropriately, but the filter on McCainSpace dug it out..)", and "I am a recent member of the working cl_ss..."

I find this truly... amassing! Check out the site here:

Truly... amassing!

RE: Keith Olberman / SORRY: you're wrong.

When President Bush praised McCain for passing the GI Bill, the bill he actively oppossed, and I'm left in front of the TV saying, "But.. but that was only YESTERDAY that he opposed the bill! I can remember back to YESTERDAY!" And waiting, waiting, waiting for some talking news anchor to point out the fact that the President and Company are_lying_all_the_time now. But no, they don't say "Bush just lied to the American people," they just keep their well-modulated voices and stay objective. That's just swell.

But I was to the point of putting my foot through the TV when a friend steered me towards Countdown. Where a lie is called a lie, where I can get information that's darn interesting and isn't being covered by the 'mainstream' media. And where Olbermann doesn't have to make up anything- it's all true.

Haven't missed the other news show one bit. And Keith Olbermann's show is fast-paced, entertaining and he has great commentators on with him.

Comparing Olbermann to O'Reilly is ridiculous- Bill has no sense of humor about anything. And calling Keith Olbermann... pompous? That's plain silly! He has great self-deprecating humor, and some of the things he's been criticized for are just plain good media sense. (Throwing crumpled paper at the screen sort of 'evolved' and is sure a lot more interesting than seeing anyone just sitting there during a transitional break.

Lighten up a little, will ya? These are seriously twisted times and I like the little light touches. It makes the current news reports more bearable. Consider this-
Rachel Maddow, who you rightly pegged as a rising star- was given her break as a frequent guest host on Olbermann's show, given invaluable coaching on making the radio-to-TV transition and Olbermann championed Rachel getting her own show.

Can you imagine a Bill O'Reilly or a Rush Limbaugh giving Maddow a break? She'd be out of there in a heartbeat, reporting from Alaska if possible. Would they actively promote someone who might one day get better ratings than they would? Olbermann could support Maddow because she was that good and the move would be good for her, him AND the network.

You just don't make that effort if you're stuck-up, self-absorbed or... pompous.
Olbermann really isn't. And me and my friends will be watching and wishing Olbermann and Maddow continued success.
