< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence McCain-Palin Supporters Celebrate Their Candidates In Bigoted Frenzy
Palin's routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."Now it would be completely unfair to suggest that, because some McCain-Palin voters are racist, McCain and Palin are themselves racist. Sure, they can stir up the kind of base hatred that has been this country's greatest shame, but you can't really hold them responsible for it, right? That kind of logic is called "guilt by association," and I'm sure McCain supporters will agree that it has no place in this campaign. Bad feeling arising. I thought America was better than that. Posted by: mimilachula on October 7, 2008 1:40 PM This is starting to remind me of something else. Can't quite place it. Amen. i've noticed quite a few of her secret service detail are african american. go knows what must go through their minds... Posted by: HedCase on October 7, 2008 2:35 PM This is POLITICAL LYNCHING! Can somebody in the MEDIA call this as it is! Its just a step away from the actual lynching to happen. This is dangerous and highly irresponsible for McCain and Palin. This might have somebody end up dead. These two are desperately doing everything in order to win even to the extent of inciting assassination and fomenting hatred! People with even a hint of conscience in them should stop this!!! Posted by: james on October 8, 2008 4:07 AM Advertisement Yep, its grossly unfair. McCain and Palin are not racist just because their supporters are. This is indeed GUILT-BY-ASSOCIATION, something that McCain-Palin campaign will never do, right? Posted by: james on October 8, 2008 4:14 AM |
