Why Are McCain Supporters So Angry?

Here's some footage from yesterday's McCain-Palin event in Waukesha, Wisconsin (it's the one our Ana Marie Cox called the angriest rally ever). The Washington Post described it this way:

There were shouts of "Nobama" and "Socialist" at the mention of the Democratic presidential nominee. There were boos, middle fingers turned up and thumbs turned down as a media caravan moved through the crowd Thursday for a midday town hall gathering featuring John McCain and Sarah Palin.
It's an increasingly common reaction at rallies for the Republican candidates. Hostility, racism, and threats of violence so disturbing that they prompt a an investigation by the Secret Service are now regular features at these events. But where is all the anger coming from? What's the reason for the venomous fury? Why are McCain supporters so full of rage?

Because McCain's gonna lose. To a black guy.

Any other questions?

Nothing else to ask. Works for me and most of the others who don't have their heads as far up their asses as the haters at McCain rallies.

There's lots of hate on this website, suprisingly most of it is directed what will be the first woman Vice President (and eventual President) of the United States.

Misogynist dinosaurs like Sailor don't believe women are capable of holding elevated office.

Wow! A Republican crowd angry? Were they hurling epithets, calling the other party nasty names, cursing, spitting on troops...oh, wait, that's the Democrats. What could make a Republican crowd angry? LOOK IN A MIRROR. Maybe, just maybe, the liberal media that has been doing their best to get Obama elected has gone too far! At least, that's what's making me, a heretofore moderate, angry. If you (liberal) media, had done your job, it might have been a fair contest.
But you keep throwing around that race card. It seems to be your answer to everything that requires rational thought.

Hey Ruby, you and the other one above you ought to get together and commiserate as in "misery."

And you keep dreaming about those Nov. 4 results, wet boy. And, parenthetically I don't consider the wolf-killer a woman in any remote sense of the word.

Have a nice weekend trying to find your ass with both hands!

Oh, heck with you. I wouldn't vote for John McCain if he WAS Black.

"There's lots of hate on this website, suprisingly most of it is directed what will be the first woman Vice President (and eventual President) of the United States."

Only lunatic right-wingers would confuse "facts" with "hate". Objective truth must be liberally biased! It's the only possible explanation that McCain is getting trounced!

Good luck trying to wean your wife off the saturated fats.

I suggest you try to stop purchasing things like chips and other high saturated fat items for the home and gently remind her during restaurant visits of the adverse health effects of items like french fries and pizza.

Keep at it Sailor, I've heard having an overweight spouse can be a horrible millstone around your neck, and I hope you can address the issue without having to divorce.

But if you get divorced, don't worry, that neighbor woman you slept with is much hotter anyway. Face it, your wife is kind of a little piglet.

Posted by: Sai1or on October 10, 2008 3:48 PM

All right, now that is just ENOUGH. Play nice or Karen is going to come over there and jam your memory stick into a light socket.

And I don't appreciate the piglet crack, either. Capeche, Himmler?

Posted by: KarenUhOh on October 10, 2008 4:16 PM

It's "capisce" you anti-semitic moron.

And it is a sign of your partisanship that while piglet is the strongest word I have used, Sailor has violated terms of use many times on this website with profanity.

Got to love false intellectuals like Karen whose religious tolerance extends to Muslims but not Jews.

Take your hate speech elsewhere.

the answer is simply that people are (and they should be) scared that we are about to elect a man who wants to reward people who do not build wealth, save money, create jobs and take risks. Obama's tax policies (huge increase to cap gains tax, death tax, real estate tax from dollar 1, etc.) sends the message to people - don't work hard to build wealth because if you want to pass on it to your family AFTER YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID TAXES on it - TOO BAD - you have to pay HUGE taxes on that again so your money can provide for all the idiots who make $45K a year and thought they were entitled to live in $800K+ houses and are now in default. I would be outraged also. Where is the PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY?

Posted by: UNDECIDEDAGAIN on October 10, 2008 4:53 PM

I'll give you this: there's no pretense of intellect in you.

And, quite the contrary: I adore you. I would like to nuzzle you.

Ok Radar, can we ban non-funny fat hate jokes? Or at least highlight them?

Posted by: punctiliouspig on October 10, 2008 5:10 PM

Also, Sai1or is the obvious answer to those questions. Do a round up of its comments and analyze the psychosis.

Posted by: punctiliouspig on October 10, 2008 5:12 PM

Why do you hate freedom?

I would support bannings based on use of profanity outlined in "terms of use", though. That would eliminate three of the five posters on this thread. I can highlight them if anyone would like.

Posted by: Sai1or on October 10, 2008 5:17 PM

Sai1or- you are just a coward
hiding behind the invisible shield of your computer. From the amount of time you spend on your posts, clearly, you have no real life.
BTW: your 'name' was already taken, by someone with integrity, & brains.
Don't worry- no one will confuse the 2 of you. 1 is a moron (that would be you, sweetie) 1 is an intelligent human being (the one who can spell it correctly)
MY suggestion? How about the episode of Sex & The City, when Charlotte's impotent husband has to refer to his flaccid penis as "Schooner"
Unless someone else has taken it- just put your cute little twist on it, Schooner, you little limp dick

Posted by: succulent on October 10, 2008 5:56 PM

Pretty lame, Sucksulent

What's your home phone number again?

That is, if you're not hiding behind the invisible shield of your computer.

The fact that you're a man and watch Sex and the City also makes me feel a little sorry for you. Like daddy didn't love you enough, but you don't have the balls to come out of the closet and just be gay.

Posted by: Sai1or on October 10, 2008 6:35 PM

Schooner, my love-
"the fact" than I watch Sex & the City, should have been a clue to you, that I am female. It's fun reading your diagnosis that I'm a closeted gay man.
This must be the same scrambled brain you use to vote for McGramps & his Beauty Queen.

Enjoy spending the weekend with your computer & some new & improved Vaseline for Men!
OXOXOX

So many haters on this site, simultaneously accusing McCain of hate.

Hypocritical much?

Posted by: Sai1or on October 10, 2008 9:10 PM

Sai1or, your accusing anyone on this site of "hate," by your Fox News-based definition, is just throwing stones in a glass house. You were the one who immediately went to the old tenets of Republicanism (read: blame the media when things don't go your way; and when things still don't go your way, sling insults).
McCain is a horrible person; the new issue of Rolling Stone has a fantastic article that bases a lot of McCain's character on what he wrote about in his book. Go read it. Then make sure to write 50 different left-wing-baiting comments that take 10 steps back in political discourse.

Posted by: kluivertus on October 11, 2008 11:35 AM

So defending my presidential choice "left-wing-baiting?"

Next you'll be saying defending my religious choice of judaism is "islam-baiting"

The difference between you and me is I get my news from many legitimate sources and you get your news from Rolling Stone & Wikipedia.

Don't you regret voting for Joe LIeberman and John Edwards? How did the Democrats make such a bad choice for VP twice in a row? Wait... three times in a row.

If you want to know why Barack Obama is a bad choice for America and Jews in particular, Award winning New York Times writer Ben Shapiro put it best:

Disgusting!

I have no other response to this hate rally. For a county rolling in money, you would think the people would be more informed on the issues of the day. All I saw was alot of fear and hate mongering. Oh... and not one black person. The plant from the Milwaukee radio station does not count.

I was born and raised in Waukesha. I spent 28 years of my life there. I moved to NJ in 1978. Thank God. The hate and racism I now see coming from all those so called good Christians make me want to vomit. McCain and Palin are promoting fear. The braindead residents of Waukesha are buying it.

What I have seen in my life out there was racism. I saw a black family try to move into this Christian town only to have the residents gang up on them. Don't want those home values going down now, do we?
I saw a small black child riding a bike in a suburb. He was visiting a family. Do you know cars actually pulled to the side of the road to watch him...like a freak show?

But these wonderful Christins do manage to go to church every Sunday. They see nothing wrong with promoting hate and racism. So typical of Bush lovers.

This city and county is an embarassment for all of America.
By the way, my relatives still live there. I call them the bubble people. Can you imagine? 60,000 people all living in the Bush bubble.

It is people like this who got us into this mess to begin with.

McCains supporters are mad because their hoods and sheets had a case of the dingies. It looked like a Klan rally-the line out front-I swear I heard someone shout 'white power'....it was an embarrasing spectacle-on CNN-which I remind everyone is seen GLOBALLY. Palin with the assault rifle-how in the world is the Secret Service going to keep her from shooting McCain in the facem while hunting wolves and mooses from a Cessna....and why am I sure all of Todds 'enemies' and Sarahs political rivals are buried at the Palin estate.
These have to be the richest white-trash I have ever seen.
